SKUNC Notes

Sketch. Underline. Comment.

Note taking is a bankable skill that once learned pays you a lifetime of dividends. As useful as a screwdriver or hammer, note taking as a tool forms the foundation for how you will learn many other skills.

While some people take a hap hazardous, ramshackle approach to note taking, SKUNC Notes teaches you an orderly, effective, and more profitable system, easily learned in just a few minutes.

Taken from the English words, Sketch, Underline and Comment to form the acronym “SKUNC”, it is a visual system based in part on mind mapping first popularized by neuroscientist Tony Buzan.

About the Author

Douglas Paul Hargrove is an American writer, author and webpreneur. He received his B.A. in English in 1983 from the University of Scranton [PA]. He worked for many years in commercial printing, before leaving to head up the sales department at a large New Jersey Advertising Agency. In 2009, he began a freelance career as a web developer and full-time writer.

Skunc Notes grew out a frustration with the note taking system that I had been taught in high school. I realized early in my career the importance of taking good notes, particularly when working face-to-face with many high-powered clients who had little patience with with vendors who “got it wrong.” If you wanted to keep the account you were expected to get it right or make it right. And make it right always seemed to cost me or my company money, sometimes thousands of dollars, so I had a very vested interest in taking “good notes.”
